In order to resolve a border dispute between several British Colonies, Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon set out in 1763 to survey the land. On this day in 1767 the boundaries between Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virgina were finally agreed upon. This we now know as The Mason-Dixon Line™.1926
